Intramural: Traveling: |
The Intramural and Traveling Division play at the same locations in the Fall, although on different fields, but in the same gym in the Winter. The Traveling Division also plays in the Spring and in various Tournaments.
Outdoors, practices and games for the Intramural Division take place at the Intramural fields at Edgely Drive at Reservoir Drive (a block from 33rd and Diamond Streets) in Fairmount Park (See Map and Directions). Indoors, all practices and games take place in the gymnasium of Greenfield School located at 22nd and Chestnut Streets. The gymnasium is located in the basement of the school, with its entrance on the south side of the school. While at Greenfield, we are the sole users of the facility. No persons, unless connected with Fairmount Soccer are permitted in the Greenfield School facility during our practice and play. The home field for the fall outdoor season for the traveling division is located at Edgely Drive at Reservoir Drive (a block from 33rd and Diamond Streets) in Fairmount Park (See Map and Directions). We share two of these fields with the Friend's Select School, whose middle school and high school soccer programs are played and practiced there. Outdoor practices and all outdoor home games are played here. Away games are played on fields throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region, mostly in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. Indoors, practices and home games take place at a variety of indoor facilities, including the Northern Liberties Recreation Center. Away games are played in gyms and recreation centers throughout the City of Philadelphia, mostly in the Northeast section of the City. The Traveling Division plays in the the United Junior Spring League, which plays its games in various locations in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. .A How to Get There booklet is provided to all traveling players listing directions to each game site. Practice locations are individually chosen by each head coach. You can search our travel field location database as well. Many Traveling Teams participate in both Outdoor and Indoor Tournaments. Most of the Tournaments, in which Fairmount Soccer participates, are held in the Greater Philadelphia Region but some, such the Orange Bowl tournament, are held as far away as Florida. Each team, with its coach decides on which tournaments to enter. The Fairmount Soccer Association defrays some of the registration fees of participating in tournaments, however, the bulk of the expenses, including all travel and accommodation fees must be raised by each individual team.
